Therapeutic Body Work

Single Sessions

Equine body work single sessions tailored to the horse’s needs using a mix of techniques such as massage, fascial integration, and Masterson Method.

Series of Fascial Integration Body Work Sessions

Long-lasting Structural Integration therapeutic bodywork that considers the environment and activities of the horse wholistically in a series of sessions.  By working with connective tissues, constrictions in the horse’s body are released to restore freedom of movement and clear associated physical and mental barriers to performance and quality of life.

Wellness Support

Trauma Recovery

Sessions to work with a horse with a history of abuse, neglect, or trauma to address problematic behaviors, facilitate release of negative memories, and build or restore the horse’s confidence.

Wellness Visits

When a horse goes through a Structural Integration series, the process includes recommendations for stretches, exercises, and daily movement to maximize the horse’s benefit from the body work.  For owners with limited time for barn visits, I will visit and do these activities with the horse between body work sessions for a small fee.

For Humans

For Horse People

Horsemanship Coaching

Group Presentations

For Non-Horse People

Personal Growth

Individual sessions for personal development, or just for fun, centered on interactions with one or more horses from the ground to explore interactions, gain insight into yourself, and to simply enjoy time with a horse.

Teambuilding

Group experiences interacting with horses to develop insights into group processes, communications, and potential for enhancing group functions and performance.

Comments from Clients

The body work for Rosita improved her “stand-offish” attitude. She interacts with me in a more positive way. She allows her face to be rubbed – responds to grooming by allowing the muscles to be softer and relax instead of tensing them. When you visit her in her stall, she turns to you and watches you curiously with eye contact instead of ignoring you. In the work under saddle, she is more responsive to the aids. Her body is softer and range of motion is increased. Your body work is amazing. The connection you make with the horse is also amazing.

I definitely see improvements and changes in his body over the last several months! My farrier even commented earlier in the day yesterday that she noticed he doesn’t try to grab his hind legs back from her when she’s trimming.
I am not a very confident horse person, and my horse, though compliant and gentle, has never been fully trained to ride. Megan discussed with me my comfort level regarding further training for myself and my horse, and she worked within those boundaries to give us new techniques for improved groundwork and tasks to keep my horse interested and learning. She never pressured me to do anything I was not comfortable with while at the same time she challenged me in my thinking and methodology. Megan also assured me that, whatever my relationship with my horse turned out to be in the end, as long as we were happy and safe, then that was great. It doesn't matter what anyone else says. That mindset has given me the freedom to just enjoy my horse regardless of what others are doing around me. Having Megan understand where I was at with my horse and how to help us improve was a relief and a confidence booster for me."

Sox received another session of body work last night, and some beautiful things happened. Most importantly, Sox is really releasing a lot of tension every single session. His body is changing and improving, and he is able to do more and more every session….
